This dress is out of this world amazing! I love this dress so much and it took me a very long time to decide whether or not to sell it. The thought of making another woman happy with the dress was the deciding factor. I felt so special and beautiful on my wedding day and this dress played a big part of that! This dress was ordered from none other than Kleinfeld in NYC and altered by their wonderful team of seamstresses in September of 2011.
Monique Lhuillier is famous for her two piece wedding gowns and this is one of them. I mixed and matched and I ordered the "Meringue" bodice with the "Magical" skirt. The bodice is listed as silk white and I opted to wear the bodice outside of my skirt- therefor, all of the beading is still intact on the amazing bodice (If I were to choose the tuck the bodice in, the seamstresses would have had to take off some of the beading so as not to show through the skirt). The bodice comes transparent, except for the bust area, but I wanted it to be lined so my seamstress lined it for me in white silk. If you want the transparent look, I'm sure that the silk is easily able to be taken out. The skirt is a wonderful latte color which is such a beautiful combo with the white of the bodice and is made from lustrous silk satin. I chose to have a side bustle- only because it creates a more unique look when bustled- however, I'm sure this can be changed if you want a more traditional bustle. I wanted something blue so my good friend hand embroidered the initials of my husband and myself and our wedding date inside the skirt on the lining on the right, lower side. I like the idea of whomever buys this dress, doing the same thing alongside our embroidery! I think it would be wonderful for he dress to tell 2 stories, however, if this is not your thing, the embroidery is easily able to be taken out with small scissors. The Magical skirt was only worn during my ceremony. I changed into a shorter skirt for our reception.
There are absolutely no stains on my dress. This dress was professionally dry cleaned and preserved and is in a preservation box.
Bottom line, this dress is amazing and I would love to pass it on to a bride to be who is as passionate about it as I am. Whomever decides to buy this dress, I would love to hear your story about this dress. I would love to hear how it made you as happy as I was.
